The Cardinals finished the 2009 season with a record of 12-10.  The Cardinals lost in the 2nd round of the state tournament in Nashville to Nashville.  After finishing out the regular season with a four-game losing streak, the Cardinals turned it around for the post-season tournaments.  The cardinals won two games at district to advance to the regional tournament, and then beat the number 1 seed Booneville Bobcats from the 4-4A to secure their spot in the state tournament.
